Parenting 101: A Lesson Learned...

Today I found out an important lesson in parenting. It's something that I should have already known if I had actually just logically thought it out. But no, I had to undergo the full first-hand experience of it today to truly understand the lesson.

What did I learn? Quite simply, DON'T GO TO TOYS R US ON A SATURDAY!

It started this morning when we were feeling adventurous. The Toys R Us in Tyler has just opened a Babies R Us section of their store. We've been talking about going down there and seeing first hand all the things we've been reading about that we need for our little one on the way. We got in the car and headed over to the store this morning...

Well an hour later or so, I'm pretty sure that Jenn and I felt a little overwhelmed. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's pretty cool to see guys dressed up as Spiderman and the Cat and the Hat in the store. It was just too jammed packed with people and a little overwhelming for two novices to the parenting world.

We did get to look around though and see some pretty cool gizmos for our little baby on the way. I'm actually pretty amazed at the whole car seat/stroller/carrier combo thing they have going on. I'll have to look into that some more I think...

As for now though, when we go back to the store, we are going on a weekday!
