Ministries Working Together

For the past few months, I've been thinking a lot about what exactly ministry will look like for me when we get to campus in Idaho. One of the thoughts that keeps reoccurring in my head is the constant daily battle and struggle college guys face with purity. So over the past few weeks, I've been thinking through ways to help men deal with the temptations they face. I really want the guys I'm ministering to in the future to have solid victory in this area. The temptations are something the enemy uses to hinder our walks with the Lord. I want to combat those temptations with the guys I'm leading, so lately I've been on the search for tools...

I think I've found something that will work well with the guys I'm leading in Bible study. I've been toying around with the idea of having them all on Covenant Eyes. (If you haven't heard of Covenant Eyes before, it's like the Rolls Royce of Internet accountability programs. It tracks all the details of where you've been online and sends them each week to your accountability partner in a pretty detailed report.) I'm thinking this will be a pretty good way of having everything out in the open with the guys I'm ministering to. Having them all on Covenant Eyes should bring light on the subject of purity and allow us to deal with the issues as men together. I'm pretty excited about seeing them have victory in this...

At our staff conference last summer, I got to talking with some guys from Covenant Eyes. They've come up with a pretty sweet way that we can work together as ministries that benefits us both. If your a guy and interested in hearing about it, shoot me an email at Jaisen.Pester@uscm.org and I'll fill you in on the details. If you are curious and want to know more about Covenant Eyes, click on the photo in this post. It will take you to their website.

Honestly, I just can't wait to get on campus and start working with the guys in the dorm. Keep praying that the Lord would be preparing Jenn and I as we process through practical ways of reaching students and discipling them on campus.
