CSU Update

Well, it's been a week of seminars, talks, training, and (most importantly) some intense connection times with God here in Fort Collins for Jennifer and I the last week...

Besides hearing from our leadership, learning about emerging evangelism techniques, and hearing about where the different ministries within Campus Crusade are heading, I think my favorite part of our time in Colorado so far has been the intense times I've had with God here. For the last two days, we've really dug into the Word in some intense ways during our morning group sessions, and I've really felt God teaching me a lot about my own life. He's taking me to places in my own life that need healing in a deep way. I've realized there are some pretty deep wounds that need to be healed with the truth of God's Word. Psalm 27 keeps ringing in my ears every time I sit down and pray. It's been a deeply refreshing and healing time for my heart...
I've also absolutely loved the worship at our conference. Worshipping with Lord with so many other missionaries is simply amazing. It's been simply incredible to let down my walls and really worship God with fellow Staff. There are times when you can almost tangibly feel the Spirit in the room. Simply put...it's Awesome!

Besides all the seminars and talks, we have also had some fun as a Crusade staff family. A few nights ago, we had a "county fair" on campus. Jenn had never been to the fair before, so it was a wonderful time for her as we rode rides and ate corn dogs and cotton candy! (I think the cotton candy was everyone's favorite part!) Boy, my legs and stomach felt quezzy after riding the rides though...

It's been great to connect with our team from Idaho while we've been here as well. We sat down with our director for coffee a couple mornings ago and really begain to dig into the planning of how exactly our team is looking at reaching every student on the campus of the U of I. Listening to how God is moving on campus makes we want to reach full support so bad!!! It certainly seems like God is piecing our team together this year to make it possible to reach every student!
One side note on our conference though: You can not believe the number of books we're getting to read. It seems like after each main session we attend, another book is given away free to us. I love the fact that so many people and publishers are so eager to equip us as missionaries! Although, I think we'll need another suitcase just for our books by the time our conference is over!!!

Okay, it's dinner time in the cafeteria. I'll keep you posted as things develop here in Fort Collins.
