Arrived in Fort Collins...

Today has been a long day.

It started at 2:45AM this morning when the alarm clock burst to life in the darkness of our apartment. By 3:00 we were out the door and in the car on our way to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport. A couple of hours (and a few oldies on the radio) later, we arrived at the airport, got checked in, and were boarding our 6:50 flight to Denver.

I've never been one for flying. Strapping myself into a heavy metal object barreling down the runway with jet engines on it and absolutely no personal control over the matter just doesn't sit well with me. But luckily Jenn calmed me down as we took off into the sky. The flight went well from there...it was wonderful to see the mountains again when we arrived in Colorado!

A bus and van ride later and we were on the campus of CSU by 10:00. After getting checked in, registered, and finding a bite to eat, we finally crashed hard in our dorm room out of exhaustion. Yes, it's been a long day...

My first impressions of CSU and our Staff Conference? Well, the dorm we are staying in is kind of run-down, but let me tell you...they have an amazing security system. We have scan cards that give us access to different parts of the building, and you even have to punch in a code to use the bathroom! It feels like we are in some sort of top secret CIA building with certain access points...of course, we had to go around and test them all out today! :-)
It was good to see a few familiar faces today. I'm looking forward to seeing more and meeting other Staff as the conference progresses. Tomorrow night is our first session. We'll be hearing from the Campus Ministry's Director. I can't wait for it to begin!
But for now, with the little sleep we've gotten, I think I hear my pillow calling to me...

We'll keep you updated on all that happens here at CSU! :-)
