A Wonderful First Year!

This weekend, Jennifer and I celebrate our first wedding anniversary together. Yup, that's right...it's already been a year. I can't believe time has flown by so fast!!!

We've had an absolute wonderful first year together. It's been amazing to look back and see how God has brought us closer together and stretched us as a married couple this past year. We've learned so much about faith and love as we've been able to work together in our marriage and ministry. God has truly blessed us this past year!

Here are some interesting things we learned the first year of marriage:

• Long walks are always best with deep conversation and a Sonic slush in your hand.
• Take every opportunity to go to the park and watch/feed the squirrels.
• Eventually, your body will get used to having another person sleep right next to you and you'll get a good night sleep again.
• Gilmore Girls and Survivor. After a year together, we've come to appreciate each other's favorite TV shows. (Yes, I'll admit to watching Gilmore Girls...although, I get frustrated at Luke a lot while watching it!)
• Sunday morning drives to Lindale for church aren't complete unless you laugh along with Jungle Jams Friends on the radio.
• Never underestimate the power and necessity of praying together each day.
• Support Raising - It's one of the most challenging and yet rewarding tasks you can undergo as a married couple. Your faith grows and is challenged in intense ways as you deal with the stresses, joys, and tears of doing ministry together!

Those are just a few of the tidbits we've picked up this first year. :-)
