2 Little Pink Lines That Will Change Your Life...

As you might have guessed from the tittle of this post, there are definitely some changes happening in the Pester family right now. Yup, you read that right. Come next spring (we think around the end of April), there is going to be another little member of the Pester household. Yup, it looks like I'll be learning how to be a dad. How incredibly exciting!!!

We found out right before returning back home to Texas, but didn't want to post anything on here until our family found out (we had some special surprise ways of telling them!). We think that we're somewhere in between 7 and 9 weeks right now, but we're not totally sure. I'm sure we'll be finding out more when we visit the doctor for the first time soon. I hear that it may even be a possibility to hear a heartbeat by our first visit (in about a week and a half). How cool is that?

It's pretty crazy to think that in only a few months Jennifer and I will step into the world of parenting. I'm not quite sure anyone is ready for it. It seems kind of scary, but at the same time I have this absolutely huge excitement that keeps growing inside of me. What an amazing blessing from the Lord!

In the last week, I think I've crammed more information about babies into my head than I knew was possible. All the way home from South Dakota in the car, we would switch off reading from a big baby book we got from Focus on the Family. There is so much I never knew about all if this! It's overwhelming at times, but at the same time the more I read, the more excited I become!

As I open up my Bible this morning, it is pretty incredible to read through Psalm 139. It gives me a greater appreciation for what is going on inside my wife's body right now...

"For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." ~Psalm 139:13-16

It's pretty incredible and amazing. What a blessing this unexpected expectancy is! Please be praying for all three of us these next few months. Pray for a healthy mother and baby throughout this whole process, and pray for Jenn and I as we learn more about this little one on the way!
