U of Idaho Update

A lot of things have been happening at the U of Idaho the last few weeks, so I thought I would take a moment to update you on what's going on at campus.

The most shocking event happened 9 days ago. A young, 21-year-old Idaho student was found shot dead in his apartment. The Moscow police currently have a suspect in custody, and believe there may be connected homicides in other cities. Click here to visit the Argonaut, the campus' newspaper, for more on the incident.

Needless to say, this has stirred up the campus this past week. However, God is moving through the tragedy. On Tuesday, a memorial service will be held for the student. During that time, the Gospel message will be clearly presented by a local pastor in the community. Pray that God would use this time to penetrate the campus with the truth of the Gospel.

In other campus news, the Steel House (a residence hall for women on campus) will be closing in May do to the extremely high maintenance repairs the building is in desperate need of. Jennifer and I are still trying to figure out how this closure might affect dorm ministry on campus in the future...

The most exciting news on campus happened a few weeks ago at Prime Time. Ralph, our campus director, had the opportunity to share the Gospel message with a young woman on the basketball team after the weekly meeting. Like many students in the Northwest, she had never heard of a personal relationship with Christ and had a relatively "blank spiritual background." Later that week after letting the Gospel message sink in, she prayed and asked Christ into her life. Now, she is undergoing follow up with our team and is learning the basics of the Christian faith. Praise God for how he moves on students' hearts to bring them into a relationship with Himself!!!

Thank you for all of your prayers toward the campus. More news to come as we hear it...
