Taking a Break for the Zoo
I think one of the best gifts Jenn and I received for our wedding was a one year membership to the zoo here in Tyler. Whenever we need a slight break or day off from raising support (and the weather cooperates), we seem to find ourselves at the zoo admiring the oddities of God's creatures.
This past Sunday afternoon we found ourselves at the zoo again enjoying the fresh air and observing both animals and people. I never know which is more exciting...watching the animals or seeing little kids get so excited about the different animals!
Anyways, Jenn and I have decided our two favorites for the zoo are the monkeys and of course the bobcats. We like watching the crazy little monkeys chase each other and fly through the air leaping to grab new branches. The bobcats fascinate us with the sounds they make. The sound is not the menacing growl you would think, but rather almost sounds like a bird. It's pretty crazy sounding!
There is something relaxing for us in going to the zoo. Sometimes I think we just need to be amazed by God in the intricacies of His creation. It seems to put things in perspective a little bit more.
I bet we will see the zoo a few more times before we get to full support. :-)
