A Slight Distraction from Training

Okay, so I know this is a little bit of a random post, but I have to tell you a story about the crazy squirrels Jennifer and I have seen here at New Staff Training with Campus Crusade for Christ.

This is one of the crazy critters that have infested Rollins College (the place our Training is at). They are everywhere here! Just looking around walking to our seminary courses, Jennifer and I can see at least five or six scurrying around the campus at a time.

Apparently however, they must be super squirrels or something. The other day while walking to class, Jennifer and I saw two squirrels chase each other up a tree. We were interested in what they were doing, so we stopped and watched as they climbed out onto a 30-foot high branch above our heads. All of the sudden, they started to fight. They chased each other in circles and next thing we know, they both lost their balance and started the falling plunge to the sidewalk below. It was like one of those slow motion scenes in a movie where you could see the squirrels fighting on the way down. And then...SPLAT!...it was one of the grossest sounds we've ever heard.

We figured that was the end of the squirrels. There was no way that their squirrel bones could survive that impact. But we were wrong! They both jumped right up and scurried away like nothing happened. God has made some super squirrels here at Rollins College I tell you...
