"The Three of You"

Yesterday evening Jennifer and I attended a friend's wedding here in Tyler. Of course it went wonderful. The bride and groom will have a solid marriage based on Christ. I'm sure of it after seeing their hearts for the Lord yesterday.

The most incredible part of the evening though was seeing my wife's face after talking with an elderly woman at the reception. We had just finished going through the buffet line and were looking for a place to sit amongst the crowded tables. Finally, we saw an open spot and rushed over to see if it was saved for anyone. Jen leaned in real politely towards the elderly woman next to the open seats...

Jenn: Excuse me, are you saving these seats for anyone?
Elderly Woman: Oh, heavens no. We have plenty of room here for the three of you. When are you expecting dear?

At that point I think my wife's smile beamed ear-to-ear just as much as the bride in the room. Even on the walk back to the car, she was smiling and giggling about how someone had noticed she was pregnant. Let me tell you, it's a pretty amazing thing to see your pregnant wife so happy! It does wonders for your own heart to see her joy. It was a good night for "the three of us."
